Imagine, you can digitally record up to 35 hours of programming and schedule these recordings up to 14 days in advance. Digital drive upgrades are available which allow you to record up to 240 hours!
Full functionality requires two programming sources. For satellite tv systems, this means a Tivo® receiver connection of two satellite inputs from a DIRECTV® multi-satellite or dual LNB (low noise block) dish antenna. Non satellite operation requires connection to two television tuners.
You also need continuous telephone line connectivity in order for Tivo® to acquire regular programming updates. This installation will give you the option to watch one show while recording another. You may also record two programs at the same time; or, watch a recorded program while recording two additional live shows.
If you want to record a program and the system has reached full record capacity, Tivo® will automatically delete the oldest recorded event. You have the option to select programs you would like the system to keep by using the "Keep Until I Delete" feature.
Service for DIRECTV® customers costs $4.99 per month, no matter how many receivers you have connected. Subscribers of the Total Choice® Premier programming package from DIRECTV® receive the service Free!
If you already subscribe to DIRECTV®, you can easily upgrade to digital video recording by adding a Tivo® equipped receiver to your existing satellite tv system. If you have an older satellite system, a newer multi-satellite dish antenna may be required as well. New DIRECTV® subscribers can take advantage of TiVo® equipped multi-satellite tv systems available at discounted rates.
