What Is RSS?

Click on any orange RSS/XML button to get the latest Web pages from SatelliteInsight. You can also use them anywhere on the Web (they're everywhere nowadays) to get the latest newsfeeds from CNN, or the newest movie and DVD releases, etc.

Once you get started, it's like having your favorite parts of the Web come to you. No need to go out and check for updates all the time. No need for bookmarks!

"RSS" means "Really Simple Syndication." But that's just a fancy way of saying that you can keep up with all the updates to SatelliteInsight without having to check the site every week to see "what's new."

Whenever I add a new page or update an old one, I release it through RSS. I also make other special posts and informational updates from time to time...

RSS is great, and it's a real time saver. No spam. It's easy to subscribe and unsubscribe, and if you grow tired of satellite babble, simply delete the feed.

Once you start, you'll soon be tracking all your other favorite interests and news in the world. So, ...

How do you get started?

Easy!

Download a free RSS Reader first (skip to the bottom if you do not want to download software). This is special software that reads the RSS feeds from any site on the Web...

Windows -- RssReader
http://www.rssreader.com/

Mac -- NetNewsWire
http://ranchero.com/netnewswire/

Once you're set up, here's all you have to do...

Right-click (control-click for Mac users) on the orange RSS button on any page of this site, or any blog or news source that interests you. copy shortcutSelect Copy Shortcut ("Copy Link to Clipboard" on a Mac), and paste that URL into your RSS Reader.

That's it! You'll be subscribed.

For Non-Downloaders

Some people prefer to view RSS feeds through their browsers. If that is you, Google, Yahoo! and others have simple one-step solutions.

Just click on one of their buttons that you see in the bottom left corner of every page on satelliteinsight.com.

Follow the instructions and you're good to go!
